Hernando takes oath as new SC justice

MANILA — Associate Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando formally took his oath of office as the 180th member of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday.

Hernando, 52, a magistrate of the Court of Appeals (CA) prior to his appointment to the High Court, took his oath before SC Associate Justice Diosdado M. Peralta.

Hernando’s family members and officials of the SC and CA attended the ceremony.

He will take over the post vacated by former SC Associate Justice and now Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
