Honasan accepts loss, thanks supporters

Former Senator Gringo Honasan conceded his 2022 senate election bid after ranking low in the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Based on the Comelec’s transparency server, which reflects 98.26% of election returns, Honasan ranked 18th among preferred senatorial bets with only about 10.4 million votes.

Honasan served as the Department of Information and Communication Technology Secretary from 2019 to 2021.

He also successfully ran for Senate in 1995, 2001, 2007, and 2013. – ag
