Honeylet Avancena today called for the creation of child-minding centers throughout the country to enable mothers to work without worrying about their child during the day. She encourages other LGUs to emulate Davao City’s new child-minding center.

Avancena and members of the Du30 Cabinet Spouses Association (Du30CSA) visited Davao City’s new child-minding center. The spouses brought rubber mats, toys, books, groceries, etc.

Atty. Betty Medialdea and Mrs. Cynthia Dominguez said enabling women to work even as they take care of their family is a core advocacy of the Du30 Cabinet Spouses Association (Du30CSA).

Ms Grace Frias, city youth devt officer, says the center does not just give substitute parental care but also provide age-appropriate developmental activities. “Facilities like this also address the problem of absenteeism and tardiness prevalent among working mothers.”

Ms. Honeylet Avancena leads the Du30 Cabinet Spouses Association (Du30CSA) during a private visit at Davao City’s new Child Minding Center.

The members of the Du30 Cabinet Spouses Association (Du30CSA) are Baby Alonto, Alelee Andanar, Jean Ano, Gina Bello, Jo-Ann Camacho, Marifel Castricciones, Lani Cayetano, FerryLou Cui, Ball Dominguez, Kristine Dino, Emmylou Go, Aloy Lim, Malou Lopez, Edith Lorenzana, Ruby Mamondiong, Betty Medialdea, Neny Pernia, Mylah Roque, Mons Romulo, Marisol Tugade, Che Uy and Emmeline Villar.
