‘Hope’ is Pres. Duterte’s message this Christmas season

President Rodrigo Duterte has emphasized the spirit of hope in his Christmas message to all Filipinos amid the challenges being faced by the country.

President Duterte said the Filipino has continued to survive because of unity and his indomitable spirit in a year considered as a “trying time for all” when lives were lost and “forever changed” due to the pandemic and the series of natural calamities that hit the country.

“This Christmas season, let the story of Jesus Christ’s birth remind us that we should always have hope even in darkness, poverty and suffering,” he emphasized.

“Let us also allow Christ into our lives so that we could bring love and cheer not only to our families and friends but also to those who are most in need,” he added.

The Chief Executive wished everyone a “meaningful celebration” and encouraged them to “be hopeful for the better days ahead.”

He has called on the nation in his recent public addresses to “be careful” this holiday season and stressed that there are still rules to be followed to prevent the further spread of the virus. – PTV News Online
