HoR OKs new contactless greeting on final reading

The House of Representatives approved the proposed measure that recommends a new type of greeting amidst the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on the third and final reading.

The proposed law “Bating Filipino Kalusugan Act” by Marikina 1st district Representative Bayani Fernando, establishes the placing of the palm on the chest while bowing as the alternative to the traditional handshake. This is deemed a safer way to show respect among individuals without the need for physical contact.

Rep. Fernando believes that the contactless greeting is of prime importance to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. – PTV News
