House Speaker Martin Romualdez congratulated on Saturday, Oct. 8, Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte on her first 100 days in office.

Romualdez said the leadership of Duterte in the education department for the return of in-person classes is a “feat that is very difficult to accomplish” amid the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I also congratulate her for the successful implementation of pro-poor programs, including the Libreng Sakay, extending medical, and burial assistance to the indigents, distribution of school supplies and hygiene kits to deserving students,” he said.

He added that her “strong leadership and firm political will made all these things possible, putting in place safety measures and health protocols for students, teachers and school personnel.”

“We at the House of Representatives salute your leadership,” he continued.  –ag
