‘Huaning’ now outside PAR; southwest monsoon to bring rains over northern, central Luzon

MANILA, July 31 — Tropical storm “Huaning” is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday morning.

The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of northern and central Luzon, however, will bring rains to these areas, it added.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will blow from southwest over Luzon and western section of Visayas.

Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from southwest to west with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina C. Arayata/PNA)
