IATF places NCR under GCQ for whole of September

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Monday (Sept. 6) has placed the National Capital Region under general community quarantine (GCQ) from Sept. 8 to Sept. 30

According to IATF Resolution No. 136-F, the NCR along with the following have been placed under GCQ:

  • Kalinga
  • Abra
  • Benguet
  • Dagupan City
  • City of Santiago
  • Quirino
  • Isabela
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Tarlac
  • Occidental Mindoro
  • Puerto Princesa
  • Aklan
  • Guimaras
  • Negros Occidental
  • Cebu City
  • Mandaue City
  • Zamboanga Sibugay
  • Zamboanga City
  • Zamboanga del Norte
  • Misamis Occidental
  • Iligan City
  • Davao Oriental
  • Davao del Sur
  • Gen. Santos City
  • Sultan Kudarat
  • Sarangani
  • North Cotabato
  • South Cotabato
  • Agusan del Norte
  • Agusan del Sur
  • Dinagat Islands

The rest of the places not mentioned are under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ). 

Beginning Sept. 8, the NCR will be the pilot area of implementation, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during the Malacañang public briefing.

“Magkakaroon po ng pilot dito sa Metro Manila at ito po ‘yung tinatawag natin na localized lockdowns,” he said.

During this period, the guidelines for pilot areas shall be observed, supplemented by the IATF Omnibus Guidelines on the implementation of community quarantine in the Philippines, Roque said.

“Maglalabas po ang inyong IATF ng guidelines for pilot areas kung hindi po mamaya, ay bukas,” Roque said. -PG-rir
