ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo provincial government has complied with the recent Prime-HRM (Human Resource Management) requirement of the Commission on Civil Service (CSC) through its enhanced electronic system.

Alma Ravena, head of the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), said Friday the province had met the CSC standard that requires electronic human information data and report generation.

This, after the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) on Friday, donated an Enhanced Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Facility to the province, being its valued partner. The system can provide the number of IPG employees with their corresponding ages.

“All personnel data sheets of all 2,250 employees will be encoded. So if you want to find out how many employees we have and their ages, the system can generate them,” Ravena said.

The employees’ job application data can be encoded on the electronic file and therefore, it can also carry applicants profile including their educational background, eligibility, work experience, and relevant trainings, among others.

Currently, the Iloilo Provincial Capitol uses six biometric fingerprint scanners. LBP Iloilo branch assistant vice president Hansen Chu turned over two personal computer servers, two units of biometrics with facial recognition, two chargers for biometric units, and the software license to the IPG.

The donation was personally received by Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr.

“The biometrics would be able to recognize face. However, the finger print still would prevail so it is an option of the province of Iloilo whether to use facial recognition,” Chu said in an interview.

According to Chu, the LBP has 12 licensed applications available. The software, hardware and the systems provider cost about PHP2 million and it was given free of charge to the province.

“We give only to our valued partners and for this region, we deemed that the province of Iloilo is a valued partner of Land Bank,” he said.

Chu guaranteed that the data encoded on the system is very much secured. A kick-off meeting will be set to start the implementation process, he said.
