Inasal na manok, sisig among best traditional food in the world

Filipino food inasal na manok (grilled chicken) and sisig (pig’s belly) are among Taste Atlas’ Top 100 Best Traditional Food in the World in 2022.

Garnering a rating of 4.63, inasal na manok is ranked 35th in the food encyclopedia’s best traditional food. 

Taste Atlas described inasal na manok as a “unique Filipino grilled chicken dish which originated in Bacolod and became the signature dish of the entire Visayas region.”

Meanwhile, sisig was ranked  62nd with a rating of 4.54.

Japan’s kare (stew) topped the list, followed by Brazil’s picanha (meat cut), and Portugal’s ameijoas a bulhao pato (clam dish).

In a separate list, Taste Atlas ranked Filipino cuisine as the 23rd in World’s Best Cuisine with a rating of 4.25.
