GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Police Regional Office (PRO)-12 ordered police chiefs in Soccsksargen to step up the operations against “all forms of illegal activities” or face relief.
Chief Supt. Eliseo Tam Rasco, PRO-12 regional director, issued the directive on Tuesday as he noted the decline in operational accomplishments these past weeks by provincial, city and municipal police offices and stations in the region.
In a memorandum issued through the regional operation and plans division, the police official said he observed that their overall accomplishment in terms of law enforcement operations has been “gradually decreasing” in the past few weeks.
“(It is) a clear indication that lower units have relaxed and failed to conduct law enforcement operations,” he said.
Rasco directed all provincial directors, city directors, municipal chiefs of police and drug enforcement units “not to be complacent” in their operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms and arrest of wanted persons.
He reminded them of the “marching orders” he issued upon assumption as regional director last August to “continue with the relentless conduct of law enforcement operations” in their areas of responsibility.
The official said the regional headquarters will strictly monitor and validate the accomplishments of police units on a weekly basis.
The validation will be handled by the regional oversight committee headed by Senior Supt. Oliver Enmodias, the deputy regional director for operations, he said.
“It will check and assess the performance of lower units in terms of their submitted target accomplishments and actual operational accomplishments,” he said.
“Any head of office or units found to be ineffective and have the lowest accomplishment during the final validation will most likely be relieved from their position or assignments,” Rasco added. (PNA)
