Inflation, higher wage among top concerns of Filipinos under Marcos admin

Majority of Filipinos want the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to focus on controlling inflation and on increasing the minimum wage of workers, a survey conducted by Pulse Asia found.

Amid the spiraling cost of basic commodities, 57% of Filipino adults said Marcos Jr. must immediately take steps to control inflation.

Meanwhile, 45% of Filipino adults are concerned about the need to increase the pay of workers.

Other urgent concerns also include reducing the poverty of many Filipinos (33%), creating more jobs (29%), fighting graft and corruption in government (20%), and enforcing the law on all (15%).

Meanwhile, 14% of Filipino adults want the new administration to fight criminality, as well as to promote peace in the country.

The survey was conducted among 1,200 adults from June 24 to 27. – ag
