Investments in Iloilo to boost ‘Build, Build, Build’ program

ILOILO CITY — The city government here is campaigning for more investors to come in as its way of supporting the national government’s “Build, Build, Build” program.

Mayor Jose Espinosa III, speaking before members of the Regional Development Council in its first regular quarter meeting here Friday, said “Iloilo city is a state where everyone wants to invest”.

“To further make this city’s local economy sustainable, inclusive and resilient by supporting the President’s (Rodrigo Duterte) ‘Build, Build, Build’, in Iloilo City we encourage invest, invest, invest,” Espinosa said.

He added that the city’s economy is “yearning to compete in the global arena for Iloilo means business”.

The mayor told event participants – heads of various regional line government agencies and private sector representatives — that the local government’s Trade and Investment Promotions Board is headed by Ilonggo business tycoon, Henry Chusuey.

He added that the city government is not remiss in its commitment to take good care of the welfare of its constituents amid the surge in interests of foreign and domestic investors.
He said Iloilo City’s “Pag-ulikid Movement” serves as an umbrella for its entire developmental program.

“This is a movement that aims to cater to the needs befitting our llonggo constituents. It is a holistic, inclusive and sustainable approach in governance where all needs are looked after,” he said. (PNA)
