MANILA – Most parts of the country will continue to experience isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and parts of the Visayas, the weather bureau said on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said with the shear line affecting the eastern section of the Visayas, scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern Visayas and the Bicol region.

Flash floods and landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said.

On the other hand, fair weather with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao, according to Aldczar Aurelio of PAGASA.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated light rains.

Aurelio, meanwhile, said there is no weather disturbance inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago.

PAGASA forecast strong to gale-force winds over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (PNA) –bny
