Isolated rain showers over PH likely till Saturday

MANILA — The whole archipelago will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers likely until Saturday, the weather bureau said Friday.

The weather condition is caused by localized thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Meanwhile, Typhoon Paeng was last eyed 615 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 160 km. per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It was moving northwest at 15 kph.

Strong to gale force winds will blow over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and the eastern part of Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern section of Mindanao, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
