Isolated rains over most parts of PH Sunday

MANILA — Most parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers, the weather bureau reported Sunday.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over eastern Visayas due to the trough of a tropical storm (TS) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The TS with international name “Kong-rey” was eyed at 1,250 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon, outside PAR.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, strong to gale force winds will blow over northern and eastern sections of northern and central Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao, where coastal areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
