Isolated rains in most parts of PH as 2 LPAs enhance southwest monsoon

MANILA—Two low pressure areas (LPA) are enhancing the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing scattered rain showers in most parts of the country Monday.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPAs were spotted 1,280 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City and 615 kms. near Subic, Zambales.

The southwest monsoon affecting southern Luzon and the Visayas would bring isolated rains and thunderstorms in the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and the regions of Mimaropa and western Visayas.

Metro Manila, Bicol Region and the rest of Calabarzon, central Luzon and Visayas will be cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains and thunderstorms.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas would have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the typhoon with international name Shanshan was last observed at 2,595 kms. east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
