Isolated rains to prevail over PH Saturday

MANILA — Isolated rains may prevail over the country, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

The northeast monsoon affecting extreme northern Luzon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Ilocos, the Cordillera region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Eastern Visayas, the Surigao provinces, Dinagat Islands, Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental will experience scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by “localized thunderstorms”.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
