ITCZ, ‘habagat’ to bring rains Saturday

By Raymond Carl Dela Cruz | Philippine News Agency

The country will experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, July 16, due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and southwest monsoon or “habagat”.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Davao region and Soccsksargen, brought by the ITCZ.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country should expect partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the “habagat” and localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds headed southwest to south will blow over the entire country, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 33°C; Tagaytay City, 21°C to 31°C; Puerto Princesa City, 25°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 32°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 32°C. – gb
