ITCZ to bring rains over Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Visayas and Mindanao will bring scattered rain showers over these areas, the weather bureau said Sunday.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Visayas, northern Mindanao, Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with rain showers caused by “localized thunderstorms.”

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will blow over Luzon, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, PAGASA said winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
