JTF COVID Shield meets with mall security managers

The Joint Task Force COVID Shield (JTF) has called for a meeting with mall security managers on Tuesday to discuss the guidelines of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The meeting was led by JTF COVID Shield Commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Philippine National Police (PNP) Director for Operations MGen. Emmanuel Licup, National Capital Region Police Office Director MGen. Debold Sinas and Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) Chief BGen. Michael John Dubria.

The meeting was meant to inform mall security managers about the health protocols that are needed to be implemented inside the establishment especially physical distancing.

According to the PNP, several on-duty mall guards have not been implementing health protocols, so they will be assigning police officers inside the malls. They were reminded to limit the people entering the malls to avoid crowding. Drop off and pick-up points will also be designated.

The PNP stated that minimum health requirements must be obeyed to prevent the further spread of the virus. Malls are expected to do the necessary adjustments in accordance with the minimum health standards.

The PNP warned mall operators that they will face charges and have their malls shut down if they fail to comply.
