MANILA — Kai Sotto will be named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) juniors basketball tournament.

The towering seven-foot-two center of Ateneo dominated everyone as far as the statistical points (SP) is concerned.

Sotto got a total of 97 average SPs, way ahead of runner-up Mark Nonoy of University of Santo Tomas with 81.9286.

Sotto’s fellow Blue Eaglet Forthsky Padrigao took the third spot with 64.625 average SPs, while FEU-FERN Baby Tamaraw RJ Abarrientos took the fourth spot with 61.6429.

Adamson’s JM Sabandal rounded out the Top 5 with 60.9286 average SPs.

The statistical points are the sole criteria for naming the MVP.

Sotto will be formally handed the MVP award along with the rest of the Mythical 5, as well as the Rookie of the Year and the Most Improved Player during the finals later this month.
