‘Karding’ rapidly intensifies into a typhoon; Signal 3 up in 2 provinces

“Karding” has rapidly intensified into a typhoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Sept. 24.

According to its 8:00 p.m. weather forecast, Typhoon “Karding” is moving 490 kilometers (km) east of Baler, Aurora.

Light to heavy rains will be experienced over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, northern portion of Aurora, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur until Saturday morning, Sept. 25.

The northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Island, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pangasinan, and the northern portion of Zambales will experience heavy to intense torrential rains until Monday early morning, Sept. 26.

Meanwhile, the rest of Central Luzon will experience heavy to intense rains as well as the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Provinces, La Union, Metro Manila, and the rest of Calabarzon will have heavy to intense rains until Monday early morning.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 was raised in:

  • Northern portion of Camarines Norte (Vinzons), and;
  • Eastern portion of Polillo Islands (Kalongkooan Island, Kalotkot Island, Patnanungan Island, and Jomalig Island).
