Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan announced the completion of various infrastructure projects in Cagayan and Agusan del Sur, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving public safety, agricultural transportation, disaster resilience, connectivity, and tourism in the provinces.

In a press release, the Department of Public Works and Highways said two infrastructure projects in the municipalities of Lasam and Claveria in Cagayan are expected to support agricultural productivity and boost flood resilience in the communities.

DPWH said the road project in Lasam town has resulted in the efficient movement of goods from farms to markets, bolstering the local production of banana, coconut, and cacao.

Meanwhile, the flood control structure along Cadcadir River would address frequent flooding that damages properties and agricultural lands in Claveria.

Another newly completed road in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur eased access to key tourist attractions, such as Bega Park and Resort, Ugnop Caves, Hapon Falls, Tugonan Falls, and San Lorenzo Hot Spring.

The road project’s two sections connect existing road networks to popular destinations as well as improve access along challenging terrains.
