Lacson: Senate won’t allow pork insertions in 2020 budget

The Senate assured that the proposed 2020 national budget shall be free from pork barrel. Senate President Tito Sotto and Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said that pork insertions in the budget will not sneak past the Senate as it will be thoroughly discussed. Sen. Panfilo Lacson warned congressmen that the alleged amount of PhP1.6B included in the budget where each congressman will receive PhP100M will not be approved if not properly justified. The House should implement a system based on needs instead of priority, Lacson added.
