Lagas re-elected as Zamboanga Sibugay barangay league prexy

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay–Incumbent Liga ng mga Barangay President Gerry Lagas has won a fresh mandate to serve as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, representing the barangay sector.

Lagas, who was re-elected to serve for a second term of office, defeated his opponent, Abdulmukim Musa, by two votes, garnering nine as against seven in the Liga ng mga Barangay election held Monday at a resort in this town.

Lagas, 48, will represent the 16 municipal league of barangays of this province in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. This province is divided into two congressional districts consisting of 16 municipalities and 390 barangays.

The other elected league of barangays of this province are the following: Ricarte Piodena of R.T Lim, vice president; Ramil Villaruel of Diplahan, Auditor.

The Board of Directors are: Christian Dinno, Titay; Edgar Cortez, Tungawan; Sheila Buazon, Kabasalan; Ildefonso Ochea, Payao; Mercedita Edem, Olutanga; and, Romerico Caloñge, Mabuhay.

Lagas, as authorized by the board, chose Dinno and Buazon to serve as the league’s treasurer and secretary, respectively.

Musa is the Liga ng mga Barangay president and the son of mayor Yashier Musa of the nearby municipality of Alicia.
