Landbank, other major banks release holiday banking schedules

Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) and several other major banks announced on Thursday (Dec. 23) their updated banking hours schedule for December 2021 to January 3, 2022, to inform clients in advance and to provide services before the long break.

Select bank branches will be open to serve clients during the break. Below are the advisories from banks that have so far issued their banking operation schedules for the holidays:

Landbank of the Philippines (LBP)

Landbank branches nationwide will be open on Dec. 23, 2021. Select branches will be closed and banking hours may also vary. Below is the complete list of closed Landbank branches and their operating hours:

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)

All BPI branches will be open from 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Check clearing cut-off will be at 2:30 p.m.

For Dec. 24 and 31, check clearing cut-off for all branches will be at 11:30 a.m., and branches will close at 1:00 p.m.

They also encourage clients to do their transactions through online banking using their BPI app.

The schedules of branches located in LGUs under strict community quarantine may differ, based on quarantine guidelines.

Some branches located in the typhoon-affected areas are still closed and the list of closed branches can be check here.

Banco de Oro Unibank Inc. (BDO)

BDO branches will remain open until 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31, while select branches will be open on Dec. 30 until 4:00 p.m.

Branches will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank)

Metrobank branches will have shortened banking hours on Dec. 4 and 31.

Dec. 24 and 31

Selected branches are open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For check deposits done over the counter, clearing time is at 2:00 p.m.

Dec. 25
ALL BRANCHES CLOSED

Meanwhile, select Metrobank branches will remain open on weekends and the holidays throughout December.

Due to Typhoon Odette, several Metrobank branches in the affected areas are temporarily closed or have shortened banking hours on Dec. 23, 2021. The list of closed branches can be check here.

Philippine National Bank (PNB)

PNB branches will be closed on Dec. 25, 26, and 30, 2021, as well as Jan. 1 and 2, 2022, except for branches at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC)

All branches will be open on Dec. 24 and 31 until 1:00 p.m. To avoid the holiday rush, they advise clients to schedule their banking transactions in advance or continue transactions online with RCBC online banking.

Union Bank of the Philippines (UB)

The bank adjusted its operating hours from Dec. 21, 2021 until Jan. 3, 2022. The full schedule of every transaction is available on their website.

United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB)

UCPB branches in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) with Alert Level 2 will continue to serve clients from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Some provincial branches may have shortened banking hours in compliance with their local government directives.

For safety and convenience, UCPB encourages clients to use their online banking facilities which are available 24/7 for your transactions.

Security Bank

Security Bank will observe shortened banking hours on Dec. 24. All branches, except the Balanga branch that will close at noon, will close at 2:00 p.m.

Due to the aftermath of Typhoon Odette, some of their branches in the areas affected will be closed or will observe shortened hours. The list of open branches can be checked here.

EastWest Bank

Select branches of EastWest Bank will have a temporary adjustment of banking hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Dec. 20-24.

Maybank Philippines

Maybank branches will be on shortened banking hours on Dec. 24 and 31, 2021, except for these branches that will continue to operate on normal banking hours:

  • Davao Business Center

Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank)

Dec. 24
All PSBank branches nationwide will be open until 2:00 p.m. For over-the-counter check deposits, clearing cut-off time is 2:00pm.

Dec. 30
All PSBank branches will be closed. Meanwhile, all PSBank ATMs and PSBank Mobile/Online will be available for banking needs.

Bank clients are encouraged to plan their banking transactions in advance to avoid long queues or transact through online banking using their official apps and website. – jlo
