Law enforcement agencies share Independence Day messages

Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana recognized the heroism of the frontliners against the threat of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Independence Day.
Sec. Lorenzana likened the fight of the frontliners against COVID-19 to the battle of early Filipinos against the colonizers since the pandemic has seen new heroes rising to the occasion, prepared to defend the safety of all.

The DND Secretary also urged the public to cooperate with the government to successfully combat COVID-19.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) enjoined the public to be always ready to protect the freedom of the Philippines.

“Side by side, let us not take for granted the gift of freedom. Instead use it to make ourselves better citizens capable of serving our country above self. And when the circumstance calls for it, offer our lives with pride and honor.”

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Archie Gamboa encouraged the members of their organization to maintain the institution’s respected name.

“Nararapat na patuloy nating gampanan ang tungkulin na ito sa paraan na malinis, marangal at maipagmamalaki. Iwaksi ang mga ma-anolmayang gawain dahil tayo ang pangunahing kagawaran na nagpapatupad ng batas. Tayo ang kaakibat ng pamahalaan sa pagtahak ng isang maunlad at progresibong Pilipinas. (We must continue to fulfill our duty with purity, honor and pride. Condemn anomalies since we are the principal implementers of the law. We are the partner of the government towards a developed and progressive Philippines.
