Lawmakers, LGUs donate patrol vehicles, rifles to Cavite PNP

IMUS CITY, Cavite — Cavite provincial and local government units donated a total of 35 police patrol vehicles, four motorcycle units and 56 rifles to various police offices in the province on Monday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde and Calabarzon Police Chief Ted Carranza witnessed the turnover of police assets and equipment during simple ceremony held at the Camp Pantaleon Garcia here Monday morning.

Governor Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla led the turnover of 15 units of L300 FB Van worth PHP14.47 million, 36 brand new units of Armalite rifles worth PHP12 million and crime laboratory equipment to the provincial police office.

General Trias City Mayor Antonio Ferrer and Congressman Luis ‘Jon Jon’ Ferrer IV, (6th District, Cavite) turned over two Toyota Hilux, two Toyota Vios, one Mitsubishi Strada, one Toyota Innova and 1 Toyota Rush to GenTri police chief Paul Bometivo.

Congressman Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino of the 8th District, on the other hand, turned over 2 Toyota Innova units worth PHP2.6 million to Supt. Byron Tabernilla, Tagaytay acting police chief; while Rep. Roy Loyola, (5th District, Cavite) turned over three brand-new pick up patrol vehicles, four motorcycles and 20 rifles to Carmona, GMA and Silang PNP.

Rep. Jennifer Barzaga of Dasmarinas City donated three brand new Toyota Hilux to Dasmarinas PNP under Supt. Nerwin Ricohermoso; Cong. Alex ‘AA’ Advincula of Imus City, one unit of Mitsubushi Strada; Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla of Bacoor City, two units of brand-new Toyota Innova worth PHP2.6 million; Silang Mayor Omil, Poblete one mobile car; and GMA Cavite Mayor Walter Echavaria, one mobile police vehicle to the local PNP.

Before the turn over rites, Albayalde, Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, Calabarzon police director; and provincial police director William D. Segun cited Supt. Vicente Cabatingan of Bacoor Police, Supt. Janet Arinabo of Naic MPS and Supt. Paul Bometivo of GenTri PNP for the recent confiscation of four kilos of cocaine worth PHP 21 million, the arrest of a rape suspect, and seizure of PHP11.7 million worth of shabu.
