Lone better from Pangasinan becomes newest lotto millionaire

MANILA – A lone bettor from Pangasinan became an instant millionaire after winning the P5.9 million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42 on Saturday (Dec. 4) night.

In an advisory on Sunday (Dec. 5), the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the lucky bettor guessed the winning combination of 21-11-19-08-42-04 with a jackpot of P5,940,000. The ticket was purchased in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

To claim the check, the bettor must proceed to PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City and present the winning ticket together with two ID cards.

A total of 110 other bettors who guessed five out of the six winning combinations won P24,000 each, the PCSO said.

About 3,116 bettors got P800 each for getting four of the winning combinations while 35,000 bettors won P20 each for guessing three right combinations.

The 6/42 Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

This is the second time this month wherein a sole bettor bagged the jackpot prize of the state lottery’s games.

During the draw on Dec. 2, a sole bettor from Dasmariñas City, Cavite bagged the P5.9 million jackpot prize of the Lotto 6/42 draw.

In November, eight bettors were sole winners of the lotto jackpot and three of them were from the National Capital Region.

As provided in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, lotto winnings of more than P10,000 shall be subject to a 20% final tax. Once the jackpot is claimed by the winner, it would be less than 20%.

PCSO general manager Royina Garma urged anew the public to keep on patronizing the products of PCSO as a large chunk of its revenue goes to charity programs.

The PCSO serves as the principal government agency for raising and providing funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character. (PNA) – bny
