Lone family member survives Davao fire that killed 3

AVAO CITY–Only one survived in a family of four when their home  in NHA Buhangin was gutted by a predawn fire on Monday.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson, Senior Insp Ma Teresita Gaspan, identified the victims as couples Christopher Pascual, 47, an employee of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Rose Pascual, 40, an employee of Depragon AA, and their 12-year-old daughter Camille.

The lone survivor was the couple’s 17-year-old daughter Pamela, who sustained burn injuries in different parts of her body. She was rescued by one of the family’s neighbors, who immediately brought her to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

According to Gaspan, the fire broke out at around 4:00 a.m., and was put out at around 8:00 a.m.

Investigators were still looking into the cause of the fire that according to initial estimates, damaged PHP1.2 million worth of properties. (Lilian C. Mellejor/PNA)
