MANILA – The low-pressure area (LPA) and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rains over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday, May 3.

In its 5:00 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the two weather systems will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa.

These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate or heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The LPA embedded along the ITCZ was last spotted over the coastal waters of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, according to PAGASA.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have fair weather, with isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago, PAGASA said. (PNA)
