The low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) may develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours, and will be given the name “Bising”, the state weather bureau said Wednesday morning.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the LPA was monitored at 235 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela as of 2:00 a.m.

Due to the weather disturbance’s proximity to the Luzon landmass, a Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is likely to be hoisted over the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon immediately once the LPA becomes a tropical depression.

“Based din po sa ating pinakahuling analysis, within 24 hours ay magiging mabagal ang pagkilos nitong LPA at mataas pa rin ang tiyansa na lumapit ito sa ating kalupaan,” PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin De La Cruz said in a public briefing.

De La Cruz added that the LPA will also bring moderate to heavy rains (50–100 mm) over Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga, and Isabela on Wednesday; the southwest monsoon or habagat will likewise affect the rest of Central and Southern Luzon, as well as in Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is also monitoring a tropical depression 2,660 km east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon outside the PAR.

“Based sa ating analysis at based sa ating data, papalayo naman ito at walang magiging anumang epekto sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa,” De La Cruz said.
