LPA, southwest monsoon bring rains over Luzon Thursday: PAGASA

MANILA—The low-pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring light to moderate rains in most parts of Luzon Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its forecast, Pagasa said that at 3 a.m., the LPA was last observed 485 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan while the southwest monsoon is affecting the northern and western section of northern Luzon.

Bicol region will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms caused by the trough of LPA.

Ilocos and Cordillera regions, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Manila will range between 23-33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 23-37 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 17-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-33 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
