MANILA—A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted off Surigao del Sur Thursday while the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last observed 955 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The trough of the LPA will bring scattered rain showers over the Visayas and Mindanao.

The regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Bicol, Aurora and Quezon would experience light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The weather system would also bring isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 23-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 22-27 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 14-22 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 24-30.
