The Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) will give persons with disabilities (PWDs) free rides on Monday, May 9.
Free train rides for PWDs will start at 5:00 a.m. until the end of train operations between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. All PWD passengers must present their valid PWD ID to the security or station personnel upon entry.
“The provision of accessible transportation is one of the main requirements for PWD to be able to participate in the national elections. LRT-2 is ready and available to accommodate them,” LRT Administration (LRTA) Administrator Jeremy Regino said.
Regino also encouraged all PWDs who will take the train to stay at the Special Boarding Area (SBA), a designated area for senior citizens, PWDs, and pregnant women.
He also reminded all PWD passengers to observe safety and security protocols and adhere to the minimum health standards such as wearing of face masks and refraining from talking and taking phone calls. – ngs
