LTFRB orders preparations for Undas 2025

On the heels of the upcoming All Saints and All Souls Days on November 1 and 2, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTO) instructed all regional directors to begin conducting inspections on all public transport terminals.

LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II cited such as part of the agency’s preparations for the influx of passengers commemorating their deceased loved ones or embarking on a holiday break in various destinations.

Chairperson Mendoza said in a statement, “Tapusin na natin ‘yong nakagawian na parang utang na loob pa ng mga pasahero na sumakay sa mga bus at mga pampublikong sasakyan. Your passengers are your lifeline in business, respect them with clean, presentable and comfortable waiting areas.”

He emphasized his directive on bus companies and transport operators, “We will also make sure that all buses and other public transport vehicles are safe—from the vehicles to the drivers and conductors—to ensure that passengers will go to their destinations safe and comfortable.”

The LTFRB chief moreover cited the need to ensure the cleanliness of comfort rooms and the provision of a streamlined booking process, which are both conducive to ensuring comfort and convenience for the passengers.

Mendoza declared, “Under our watch, this will be a regular thing. Hindi lang pang Undas, Pasko o Semana Santa. We will require random checking at least every month of the year.”
