The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has integrated the online driver’s license renewal in the eGovPH app, which ensures a fast and seamless digital transaction for the clients, whether at home or in the office.

At a press conference held this Thursday, July 10, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II cited this digitalized service as a new option for clients wishing to renew their driver’s licenses.

“This is a better alternative to going to LTO offices since you don’t need to shell out money for transportation to our offices and don’t even need to queue in any license renewal offices,” said Asec Mendoza.

In order to avail of the transaction, the LTO client needs to download and install the eGovPH app on their smartphones, which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Once the eGovPh app is installed and ready for use, here are the steps to avail of the online driver’s license renewal:

1. Through eGov app, find the icon NGA, locate LTO, then click;

2. Select online driver’s application;

3. Click, renew your driver’s license;

4. Upload or capture the front and back of your physical driver’s license;

5. Once uploaded, wait for the analysis of the uploaded card (1min to 3min);

6. Once validation is complete, review and verify the details, then hit submit;

7. Take a photo and abide by the required standard format, which can be seen in the instructions before taking a photo.

Meanwhile, the LTO chief advised clients to secure a telemedicine medical examination, online Driver’s Enhancement Program (DEP), and online payment prior to ensure a fast and hassle-free application process.

Once a transaction is completed successfully, an electronic driver’s license is automatically generated in the eGov App, informing the client that the driver’s license is already renewed. Asec. Mendoza also emphasized that the e-license has the same validity as the physical card.

He also noted that clients may choose a courier provider and book for delivery of the physical driver’s license card, or opt for pick-up and select a nearby district office where they can claim the renewed license.

“All of these digitalization efforts are intended to make all transactions in the LTO fast and comfortable to all our clients, as instructed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. We are continuing to further improve our digital services and expand the reach to all Filipinos, even abroad,” said Asec Mendoza.

Also present at the launch of the online driver’s license renewal in the eGov app were Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda.
