Magnitude 4.5, 4.6 quakes hit Leyte, Zambales towns

 

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit Masinloc, Zambales at 04:36 p.m on Friday, July 15, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 40 kilometers with no expected aftershocks and damages.

It was felt in Iba, Zambales at Intensity IV, and at Intensity III in Infanta, Pangasinan and Olongapo City, Zambales. It was also felt in Quezon City at Intensity II.

Meanwhile, a magnitude 4.5 quake also jolted Burauen in Leyte at 3:18 p.m.

The tectonic plate had a one-kilometer depth without any expected aftershocks and damages.

It was felt in Ormoc City, Burauen, Albuera, and Dagami, Leyte at Intensity IV; in Dulag, Jaro, Pastrana, La Paz, and Julita, Leyte at Intensity III; and in  Tacloban City, Palo , Capoocan, Kananga, Carigara, Javier, and Abuyog, Leyte at Intensity II. -ag
