Magnitude 4 quake jolts Eastern Samar town

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Guiuan town in Eastern Samar on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic quake, recorded at 11:51 a.m., had a depth of 18 kilometers (km). 

At 3:51 a.m., another magnitude 4.0 tectonic earthquake hit Uyugan, Batanes.

A 14-km depth was recorded.

Intensity 1 was felt in Mahato and Intensity II in Uyugan and Sabtang.

This was followed by another earthquake with the same magnitude at 3:53 a.m. in Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

No aftershocks and damages are expected from the three quakes.
