Magnitude 5.3 quake hits Davao del Sur

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Davao del Sur on Monday, Oct. 24, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

According to Phivolcs, the tremor hit 16 kilometers southwest of Davao.

Intensity III was recorded in Malungon, Sarangani while Intensity II in Don Marcelino and Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

Instrumental Intensity I was logged in Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, and Santo Niño, South Cotabato, and Intensity I in Alabel, Malapatan, Sarangani; Tupi General Santos City, South Cotabato and Kidapawan City, Cotabato. – gb
