A magnitude 5.5 earthquake jolted Calintaan town in Occidental Mindoro at 12:00 midnight Saturday, April 29, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Aftershocks are expected from the 44-kilometer deep earthquake.
No damages are expected.
Instrumental intensity IV was felt in Puerto Galera and Calapan in Oriental Mindoro, while Intensity III was felt in Lemery and Calatagan in Batangas, San Ildefonso in Bulacan, Magallanes, and Tagaytay in Cavite, and in Las Piñas.
Intensity II was recorded in Abucay in Bataan, as well as in Cuenca, San Luis, Bauan, Laurel, Batangas City, and Sta. Teresita in Batangas province, Marilao, Malolos, Guiguinto, Calumpit, and Pulilan in Bulacan , Tagaytay City and Ternate in Cavite, Muntinlupa, Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro and Victoria in Oriental Mindoro.
Intensity I was logged in Dinalupihan in Bataan, Talisay and Lipa in Batangas, and in Norzagaray and Obando, Bulacan.
The same intensity was reported in several Metro Manila towns including San Juan, Pasay, Malabon, Pateros, and Parañaque.
Intensity I was also felt in Guagua in Pampanga, Gumaca and Dolores in Quezon, Cardona, Angono, and Taytay in Rizal, Marabut in Samar, and in Zambales towns of San Antonio, Cabangan, Subic, and Olongapo. — gb
