Magnolia romps Columbian for share of top spot

MANILA — Magnolia Hotshots moved into a tie for first place in the PBA Governors’ Cup after dismantling Columbian Dyip, 113-95, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

The Hotshots quickly set the tone in the first quarter, dropping 31 points on the Dyip before gradually pulling away for good as they join Barangay Ginebra at the top at 5-1.

Romeo Travis led Magnolia with 32 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals, while Mark Barroca added 16 points, one rebound, four assists, and three steals off the bench.

Jack Corpuz made 20 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal for Columbian, which fell to 0-7.
