Malacañang calls for justice on 11th anniversary of Maguindanao Massacre

Malacañang assured that the government will not stop until justice is fully served for the victims of the Maguindanao Massacre as it honors the 11th anniversary of the mass murder.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque asserted that those who managed to escape will be caught in the hands of justice.

“Nakamit na po ang hustisya sa ilalim ng Administrasyong Duterte. At least po, nakakulong na ngayon iyong magkapatid na Ampatuan. May mga suspect pa rin po na hanggang ngayon ay nakakatakas ngunit mahuhuli rin po iyan at pananagutin sa ilalim ng ating mga batas. (Justice has been attained under the Duterte Administration. At least the Ampatuan brothers are now in jail. There are suspects who have escaped but they will be caught and held liable under our laws.) We will never forget.”

On November 23, 2009, 58 individuals were supposed to go to Shariff Aguak to attend the filing of certificate of candidacy of former gubernatorial candidate and now Maguindanao 2nd district Representative Esmael Mangudadatu. However, they were slain along the way and buried by an armed group. The incident has taken the lives of the wife, relatives, and supporters of Mangudadatu, and 32 journalists. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
