The Marcos administration will present the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023 to 2028 in December, according to Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan during his meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

“It will come out next month and we already briefed him on what the  major major elements… The key elements of those plans, and he provided comments, suggestions moving forward,” Balisacan said.

He said the plan also includes actionable strategies that will bolster the domestic market for both foreign and local investors. This was a reiteration of Marcos’ commitment in his meetings with global leaders at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits.

“He emphasized that the plan should address the concerns of the development… of the local markets. Tama naman, ensuring that they receive the same assistance,” he added.

The  National Economic and Development Authority chief said that it will be the first time that the PDP is presented before a president’s full-year term.

“Ang nangyari noon is all the ships are already in the middle of the sea. They are casting their own nets na. Ngayon nandiyan. So there is now greater opportunity and for coordination ng agencies,” he said.

He also assured that there will be regular monitoring and evaluation for the PDP.

“So every year, we will provide a report to the President and how the plan is being implemented and the performance and the various metrics or targets that have [been] indicated in the plan,” he continued. ag
