Thousands of housing units are set to be built for beneficiaries as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the groundbreaking of housing projects in six towns in Bulacan on Wednesday, April 19.

The projects are under the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program that seeks to build one million units annually until 2028.

“Sa pamamagitan po ng proyektong ito, maisasakatuparan [ng] libo-libong Bulakenyo ang pangarap nila na magkaroon ng maayos at abot-kayang bahay na matatawag nilang sariling tahanan,” Marcos said in his speech.

Marcos personally led the groundbreaking with Housing Chief Jose Rizalino Acuzar in Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte; Caingin, San Rafael; and Mom’s Ville in Pulilan.

Other housing officials joined the simultaneous event in Pandi, Guiguinto, and Malolos.

“Ito ay bahagi ng programa ng inyong pamahalaan na 1 milyong bahay sa iba’t ibang dako ng bansa sa bawat taon sa administrasyong Marcos,” he added.

According to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, the initial phase of the project covers 12,563 units. When expanded into additional phases, the number could grow to 30,000.

The project in San Jose del Monte covers the construction of nine eight-story buildings with at least 1,890 housing units, while the San Rafael project is expected to generate 3,920 residential condominium units.

Meanwhile, eight 10-story buildings with 1,920 units are expected to be built in Pulilan, 4,050 in Pandi, 108 in Guiguinto, and 675 units in Malolos. AG – gb
