Marcos orders prioritization of water supply in Abra

One of the marching orders of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday, July 28, is the restoration of the damaged water supply system in earthquake-hit areas in Luzon, including Abra province.

In his situation briefing in Bangued, Abra, he directed concerned offices and units to urgently repair and restore the water systems of affected municipalities to ensure the availability of clean water for the residents.

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority already distributed 10 units of portable water purifiers.

Senator Imee Marcos, who was also present in the briefing, vowed to send solar purifiers to affected areas.

Moreover, the local and provincial officials of Abra assured of sufficient supply of drinking water for Abra residents. —Report from Mela Lesmoras/KC-ag
