Massive clearing ops pushed in Cebu

The City of Cebu will implement a massive clearing operation as scraps and garbage from the onslaught of Typhoon Odette have yet to be collected.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said piles of garbage that have yet to be collected in roadsides may cause heavy traffic, which prompted the city government to soon issue a directive.

The government is targeting to implement the clearing operations on Dec. 30 or Jan 2.

“We will have one day no sasakyan, except sa cleaning, and everybody should clean,” he said.

Meanwhile, the local government assured that far-flung areas affected by the typhoon will be given immediate assistance. – Report from John Aroa (PTV Cebu)/AG-rir
