The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tropical Storm “Mawar” is expected to intensify as a severe tropical storm within 24 hours.

In its latest weather forecast on Sunday, May 21,, PAGASA Weather Forecaster Veronica Torres said the typhoon will enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Friday or over the weekend.

“Itong bagyong ito ay inaasahan na maaaring mag-intensify [bilang] isang typhoon in the next 24 hours,” Torres said.

Those residing in flood-prone areas are advised to stay updated on the latest rainfall advisories.
