Mayon eruption prompts PAL to cancel flights to Legazpi

MANILA — The Philippine Airlines (PAL) has cancelled its Wednesday flights to Legazpi City due to the ongoing eruption of the Mayon Volcano.

PAL announced Tuesday afternoon that the following flights are cancelled:

PR 2921 Manila-Legazpi

PR 2922 Legazpi-Manila

PR 2927 Cebu-Legazpi

PR 2928 Legazpi-Cebu

The flag carrier will resume its flights to Masbate and Naga City tomorrow.

“We’re taking it a day at a time. We are monitoring the seismic activity of Mayon through the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). PAL is also in communication with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) as they provide regular updates through its notice to airmen (NOTAM),” PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in a radio interview.

Passengers of the cancelled flights may rebook within 30 days from the original flight date, ask for a refund or rebook on the next available flight. (PNA)
